Where Ideas Become Community Impact

Volunteers took part in our weekly initiative preparing free meals for homeless people in Skopje. They actively supported the process by cooking, packing meals, and adding kind messages on the boxes (over 100 per day), while also assisting in direct distribution and spreading kindness to beneficiaries. In the second part of the initiative, they made daily visits to elderly care homes, where they spent time knitting, sewing, and reading with the residents, bringing companionship and support to their everyday lives.

The group implemented two impactful initiatives. First, in collaboration with the school Eco Club, they revitalized a green area by developing a school park designed as a welcoming space for young people. Second, they supported the State Center for Children with Autism through the donation of equipment and the renovation of the entrance—marking the first refurbishment of the premises in 40 years, significantly improving accessibility and the overall environment. The premises will now be a daily care center for over 50 children from Skopje, which is 30% more than in the old premises.

A combined donation drive and awareness session held at Nambapana and Handapangoda Central College in Horana. Laptop equipment was donated to the school, followed by an interactive session introducing students to IT industry opportunities and career pathways.

Participants of the GLL program from SLIIT identified Nugadanda Badrawathi Primary School — a school with limited access to experiential education, a gap common among under-resourced schools within the Sri Lankan education framework. A functional educational garden program was developed and delivered as a workshop for 15 selected students, designated as Garden Leaders and tasked with both learning and passing on knowledge to future students. The program covered: planting a new school garden with a continuity plan; an interactive session on plant types, sustainability, and garden maintenance; and a structured maintenance system with assigned roles to ensure long-term sustainability.
